Juice cleansing, otherwise known as juice “fasting” is a fasting and detox diet. The person who is doing the juice cleanse consumes only fruit and vegetable juice. A juice cleanse can last from a day or two to a couple of weeks. A person who undergoes a juice cleanse can have one of several reasons why they’re doing it. For most people the number one reason is to lose weight and reset their appetite controls. Some people use it to stop addictive behavior such as drinking, smoking or overeating. Other people believe it will cure depression, autoimmune diseases and chronic pain.

A juice cleanse can help maintain health. It helps to detoxify the body, flush out toxins and helps to rebuild the immune system.
A juice cleanse will invigorate the body with minerals and the necessary vitamins needed. A juice cleanse can cause you to have more energy, mental clarity and sometimes a sense of rejuvenation and happiness. Some other helpful benefits are it can help to balance your PH level as well. A juice cleanse can also help to lower blood pressure, improve your circulation and cleanse your colon. By improving your digestive function, it can help you to normalize your body weight.
Pure juice contains little or any fiber. Because of this, juice fasters may have to use an enema or salt water laxative to keep things moving along. Fasters should also note to take vitamins and essential nutrients while fasting. With a juice cleanse, a salt deficiency may occur. When you are salt deficient, you get a bad headache, a feeling of weakness and lightheadedness; and then an attack of nausea. So keeping an eye out for low salt levels is a smart thing to do.

 

A juice cleanse will detoxify your body. It helps to flush out toxins which have been building up over the years. It will permit your body to restore balance, rebuild, renew and refurbish. It can help improve your sleeping habits and give you a clear, shining complexion and can reduce aches and pains. It can make you feel like a new person, a healthy vibrant person who has spring in to your step.

 

On the downside, if you are diabetic, juicing can be harmful for you. Because some juices are high in fructose, it can raise your blood sugar to a dangerous level. Also, grapefruit juice can react with some prescription medications, such as synthryoid, causing absorbing problems.

 

All in all, juicing is good for you as long as it isn’t taken to excess. Ask your doctor for advice and make sure you watch your salt depletion. So bottoms up!

Juice Cleanse Smoothie:

1/2 cup coldgreen Juice Cleanse water
1 cup watermelon
1 green apple
1 Banana 
1/2 cup of melon, cantaloupe
3 stalks celery
1/2 cup of spinach 
3 sprigs of basil – leaves only
1 cup lettuce
